Italy celebrate winning the European Championships at Wembley in 2021Italy are the reigning European champions - but could yet miss out on qualification

England and Scotland have already booked their spots at Euro 2024 but there are still plenty of places up for grabs going into the last round of qualifying fixtures.

Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland's hopes of playing at the Euros are over.

A total of 24 sides will compete at next summer's tournament in Germany, with the hosts qualifying automatically.

There are 20 places available via the qualification process, and 16 nations have already booked their spots via that route.

The other three places will be decided through play-offs, with the 12 teams taking part in that process determined by their performances in the 2022-23 Nations League.

Some big names could miss out, with Italy still to yet to qualify and Erling Haaland's Norway eliminated. The draw for the tournament is on 2 December.

BBC Sport gives you the lowdown on how qualifying is shaping up and the key fixtures on the horizon.
