Newcastle have called off their pursuit of England midfielder Kalvin Phillips, 28, because of Manchester City‘s demands for a loan fee. (Telegraph – subscription required)

Paris St-Germain are considering a move for Newcastle’s Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, 26, who has a £100m release clause. (Talksport)

Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to a sign a top-class centre-forward, who is at a similar level to Bayern Munich‘s 30-year-old England forward Harry Kane, once his deal to buy 25% of Manchester United is ratified by the Premier League. (Standard)
