Arsenal target another left-back

Arsenal have already signed cover for Kieran Tierney, bringing in youngster Nuno Tavares from Benfica earlier in the window.

However, as per the Evening Standard, Arsenal are also considering further reinforcement in the position, with Hibernian’s Josh Doig remaining on the radar.

According to the report, they would face competition from West Ham for the Scotsman’s signature, with Moyes’ side also looking for full-back cover.

However, neither side at present appear willing to meet the 5 million pounds asking price that Hibs have set, with a price around 2.5 million pounds the maximum that either club would be willing to offer at present, although this may change as the window draws on.

Maddison links continue to intensify

Ahead of the summer window, James Maddison moving to north London was nothing more than a pipe dream, with all focus on Martin Odegaard.

However, the Norweigan may remain at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, meaning that Mikel Arteta and co. have been forced to seek out alternative targets.

One of those is the Leicester man, who has impressed in his two seasons at the midlands club.

And according to freelance journalist Pete o’Rourke, a deal may be possible, with the Gunners having “been given encouraging signs” that a deal can be agreed for the 24 year old.

Such a signing would certainly represent a statement of intent from the Gunners, who have recorded back to back 8th placed finishes in the Premier League. Would he be the missing piece in Arsenal’s attack?

Locatelli edging to Juventus

As speculation for Maddison intensifies, links to Manuel Locatelli seem to be quietening down. Arsenal had been linked with a move for the Sassuolo midfielder if Juventus could not stump up the required cash for the Italian, with the Sassuolo CEO even going on record to say that the Gunners have made a bid.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercarto, however, Sassuolo are prepared to accept Juventus’ latest offer, which would see a 2 year loan for Locatelli with an obligation to buy the midfielder at the end of the deal.

For Arsenal, it may be time to move onto new targets.
