Carragher, Torres, Lebron James, Man City, Liverpool stars and more take to Twitter to react to Reds clinching PL title

A host of high-profile individuals (and clubs) have taken to social media this evening to congratulate Liverpool on their first league title in 30 years.

The wait is over

After Jurgen Klopp’s men put Crystal Palace to the sword last night, attentions turned to Stamford Bridge this evening.

Chelsea welcomed Manchester City to London a short time ago, for Premier League gameweek 31’s most high-profile fixture.

Liverpool’s 23-point advantage over (now former) champions City in 2nd meant that anything other than a victory for Pep Guardiola’s men would see the Reds crowned English top-flight champions.

And, when all was said and done, this is precisely what unfolded.

A pulsating affair at the Bridge eventually saw Chelsea emerge with a 2-1 win, after Willian’s late penalty added to Christian Pulisic’s first-half strike for the Blues.

The result saw Lampard’s Chelsea strengthen their grip on 4th-place in the Premier League table, but, most crucially of all, saw the title race brought to a definitive end, and Liverpool crowned champions for the first time since 1990.

Twitter reacts

The online reaction to the Merseyside giants’ feat has since been both swift and widespread, with fans, pundits, former players, celebrities and clubs alike having flocked to social media to congratulate Jurgen Klopp’s men on their historic night.
