Gabriel Jesus ‘offered’ to Real Madrid as Arsenal and Tottenham push for striker

6 June 2022 0 By Total Football News

Gabriel Jesus has emerged as an ‘option’ for Real Madrid this summer, in the wake of their failure to lure Kylian Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian has long been a target for Arsenal, and has one year left on his contract at Manchester City. This, along with the new additions of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez to the Cityzens’ front line has left his departure this summer almost certain.

Where he will go remains unclear, however, as reports of a deal close with any club currently appear wide of the mark. Arsenal can offer a starting striker berth but lack the final gloss of Champions League football, while at Tottenham Jesus would not be assured of a spot in Antonio Conte’s first-choice front three.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Marca, the Brazilian has emerged as an ‘option’ for Los Blancos, who are looking for an option to play alongside Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior for next season.

Jesus, who is ‘liked by Ancelotti’, would offer just such an option, and would be unlikely to cost a significant amount, though whether he would be content to continue playing in a wide berth is altogether unclear.

Tottenham open the bidding?

Meanwhile, according to sources in Italy, Tottenham have opened the bidding for Jesus, offering Manchester City 47m euros for the Brazilian.

That is according to Tuttosport reporter Massimo Pavan, though should such an offer exist it would seemingly be well below the 55m euros demanded by the English Champions.

Nonetheless, it would certainly help to figure out who the serious suitors in the chase for Jesus are.
