Nathan Ake agrees terms with Chelsea ahead of Stamford Bridge return8 July 2022
Dutch international defender Nathan Aké looks to be on his way to a return to Stamford Bridge this summer as the former Chelsea academy graduate has agreed to personal terms with his former employer.
A report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has stated that the hard work between Chelsea and Aké has already been completed in what may well result in the Dutchman’s return to the capital after his departure back in 2017.
Chelsea have full agreement with Nathan Aké on personal terms. Man City are aware of the situation on the player side, but still waiting to receive the official bid. 🔵 #CFC

Manchester City are hopeful that they will receive a fee in the region of £40 million-£45 million for the 27-year-old native of The Hague, according to Romano, with the Sky Blues not standing in the way of his departure as long as they can receive financial restitution.
Aké spent six years at Chelsea after his arrival from Dutch giants Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he first spent one year in the Cobham academy set up before being an outlier in the first team, which included three separate loan stints with Reading, Watford, and Bournemouth.
After a credible spell in 2016-17 with Bournemouth, the Cherries made a full move for the Dutch international and he would go on to be a key member of the defense for three seasons while making over 100-appearances on the south coast.
But Aké failed to truly kick on after his arrival at Manchester City in 2020, managing just 40-appearances in two seasons as a versatile backup for Pep Guardiola.
With Thomas Tuchel at the helm at Chelsea and his propensity to utilize a back three one of his current core principles, Aké could find rebirth at his former home moving forward should full terms be agreed this summer.
