Bentancur apologises to Tottenham team-mate Son for ‘bad joke’

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has apologised to captain Son Heung-min for using a racial slur on Uruguayan television, saying it was a “very bad joke”.

While appearing on Canal 10 show Por La Camiseta, Bentancur was asked by host Rafa Cotelo for a Spurs player’s shirt.

The Uruguay international replied: “Sonny’s? It could be Sonny’s cousin too as they all look the same.”

After coming through Arsenal’s youth set-up, Campbell made his senior debut for the club in 1988, following loan spells with Leyton Orient and Leicester.

He scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Arsenal during their title-winning 1990-91 campaign.

Campbell then helped the Gunners win the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1993, and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994.

Adam Lallana: Southampton sign ex-Brighton and Liverpool midfielder

Lallana was a free agent after his contract with Brighton expired at the end of the season.
