Villa have hit a bit of form and seem to be getting back to the level they were at last season.
They had another good win in the Champions League this week, but then you’d expect them to beat Viking pretty comfortably.
Emery’s side played well against Newcastle last week too but I thought Newcastle were a bit too gung-ho, and paid the price. City are a lot more streetwise.
It took Ipswich 19 matches and until 30 December to rack up three wins the last time they were promoted to the Premier League, in 2024-25, but their new-look side have already matched that total in their first six games.
“Whenever you get promoted there is going to be a large amount of player turnover because, if you want to stay up, then you need to bring some players in
I’ve heard people suggest that City’s players will be frazzled because of what is going on with the club off the pitch, but I don’t see it that way.
I suspect that, along with the City fans, there will be this siege mentality now where they think ‘everyone hates us, everyone wants us to lose, everyone wants us to be relegated’ – even if I don’t think that is actually

Chris picked up his first win of the season after getting seven correct results – including three exact scores – from the 10 matches in week two.
After a slow start, five of his correct results – and two of his exact scores – came in the five games on Sunday and Monday.

Leeds have had a tough run of games against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool and it felt like there were people out there who were waiting and even wishing for
Manchester United did not have to play particularly well to beat Crystal Palace on Sunday, and Eagles boss Oliver Glasner moaned afterwards about the club’s failure to bring players in over the summer.
When a manager does that, I start to wonder how long he will hang around. I get it – you have to leave when your stock is high, and Glasner’s certainly is at the moment.

Stone says his decision about who to support was made for him when he moved to Birmingham as a young boy and his uncle bought him a Villa shirt.
“No-one told me who to support, but that’s how it started,” he told BBC Sport.
“I lived in Walthamstow to start with, and I wasn’t into football then, but when I moved it was around the same time my uncle gave
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years – but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
“I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine,” he told BBC Sport. “My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they
