West Ham dealt final blow in Arnaut Danjuma chase

Premier League outfit West Ham United have been dealt something of a blow on the personnel front, amid ongoing efforts to land Villarreal standout Arnaut Danjuma.

The name of versatile wide-man Danjuma has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the London Stadium over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes amid widespread claims that the Irons, amid the club’s ongoing pursuit of attacking reinforcements, have stepped up their pursuit of the one-time Bournemouth standout.

Danjuma, for his part, is understood to have been identified as a priority target on the part of David Moyes and co.

This comes with the 25-year-old having excelled in his first season in Spain last time out, en route to 16 goals and four assists across all competitions.

As alluded to above, though, after the player’s agent earlier this week moved to play down the chances of his client landing at the London Stadium, on Friday, ensuing reports have brought a definitive end to West Ham’s Danjuma hopes.

As per Spanish outlet Diario AS,  the Dutchman, along with his entourage, have informed the powers that be in east London once and for all that Danjuma has no intention of becoming a Hammer this summer.

Instead, the gifted attacker has opted to commit his immediate future to Villarreal, eager to open the new campaign in the best form possible with a view to November’s Qatar World Cup.
