Alex Mowatt: West Brom midfielder signs new deal

West Brom midfielder Alex Mowatt has signed a new two-year contract with the Championship club.

The 29-year-old was offered a new deal in May, with his previous contract running out in June.

Mowatt’s new deal includes an appearance-related clause which will trigger a further 12-month extension.

He has scored six goals in 84 appearances across all competitions for West Brom since joining from Barnsley in the summer of 2021.

More than half those appearances came last season on his return to The Hawthorns after spending the 2022-23 season on loan with Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

“I’m delighted to be staying and my mind was made up as soon as last season had finished,” Mowatt told the club website., external

“It’s been a long wait but I’m happy to get it done because I love it here.”
