Middlesbrough: Carrick enthused by side’s recent goal glut

Emmanuel Latte Lath led the way at the Kassam Stadium with a hat-trick to make it five goals in three games, having managed just two in the previous 13.

The Ivory Coast striker is back towards the player who grabbed 18 goals in his debut campaign on Teesside last season.

But with Scotland teenager Ben Doak again impressing, Finn Azaz scoring twice and Tommy Conway getting on the scoresheet off the bench, Carrick knows he has lots of options going forward.

“Manu was fantastic and gets the headlines for it and rightly so,” he said. “But across the front line, the boys can be proud.

“Manu has found his stride, that extra bit of sharpness that he’s got and I’m delighted for him. But Delano (Burgzorg) played well, Ben’s playing well, Finn’s dangerous and Riley (McGree) and Tommy came on and made a difference.

“But I don’t feel any different to most of the season because that’s what we’ve been threatening to do.”
