Carlton Morris: Luton must ‘dig deep and find another level’ to climb table

Morris said it was crucial the squad and supporters stick together over the coming weeks.

“We still feel their support and that’s huge for us, huge for the dressing room. The last thing we want is for it to turn toxic and start blaming each other. That’s just where you don’t want to be,” he said.

“What we need to remember as well is that teams at Championship level are no mugs. We need to dig deep and find another level.

“That’s why everyone loves the Championship. Anyone can beat anyone in any given week, but we haven’t shown that enough in recent weeks.”

One plus for Luton was the return of Alfie Doughty, who played for more than an hour on his return to the starting line-up following injury.

And Morris believes he and recent recruit Isaiah Jones from Middlesbrough could be vital as they look for the points to escape the bottom three.

“It’s brilliant to have Alfie’s energy back. He settled in really well and we’ve just scratched the surface – I think he’s going to be electric for this club going forward,” he added.

“I’m excited to see them down the flanks in the next few games. I think they can really create and get the fans on their feet again.”
