Chris Wilder: Sheffield United boss has no issue with Patrick Bamford over chants

And in the 2018-19 season, when the Blades won automatic promotion and Leeds missed out, losing in the play offs, Wilder branded Bamford “a muppet”.

Sheffield United now find the boot on the other foot and face a nervous wait to see whether they can plot a path through the play-offs and go up with Leeds and Burnley.

But he was full of praise for the job that Leeds have done this season.

“I would swap our position for theirs in a heartbeat but it isn’t the case,” Wilder added. “But as I keep going on about, 94 points for both of those teams is an incredible achievement.”
