Rumarn Burrell: QPR striker ruled out injured until March
8 January 2026Burrell’s injury was one of a number of problems that emerged from the win over the Blades for Stephan.
Defender Liam Morrison was injured in the warm-up and replaced by Steve Cook in the starting XI before Burrell and midfielder Jonathan Varane both had to be withdrawn in the first half.
Kwame Poku, who missed much of the start of the season with a hamstring injury since moving to the club from Peterborough United last summer, did not come back out after half-time, with the club stating the forward has sustained another hamstring injury.
Morrison was taken out of the game as a precaution and is expected to return to training next week, the club said.
Varane picked up a “minor knee sprain during the fixture and is being monitored ahead of a potential return later this month”, while QPR expect Poku to return to training in February.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Ilias Chair and centre-back Jake Clarke-Salter are expected to return to first-team training later this month, following their respective injuries.
The Rs begin their FA Cup campaign at West Ham in the third round on Sunday.
