Derby County forward Andi Weimann has returned to his first club Rapid Vienna after almost 19 years in English football, agreeing a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old spent three seasons in Rapid’s youth team before joining Aston Villa in 2007 and going on to score 17 Premier League goals for the West Midlands club.
Weimann also featured for six different clubs at Championship level,
Blackburn Rovers have offered new deals to defender Danny Batth and forwards Tyrhys Dolan and Andi Weimann.
Batth, 34, signed a one-year contract in August last year and scored two goals in 37 league appearances for the Championship side this season.
Dolan, 23, has made 211 appearances for Blackburn after joining in 2020, while Weimann, 33, who also joined as a free agent last August, scored seven goals in 30
Blackburn will be without three senior players for the visit of Championship leaders Leeds on Saturday.
Forward Andi Weimann, goalkeeper Balazs Toth and midfielder Arnor Sigurdsson sat out Wednesday’s win at Middlesbrough and boss John Eustace says they will also miss the meeting with the Whites at Ewood Park, and potentially the trips to Hull and Sheffield Wednesday in the first 10 days of December too.

Blackburn Rovers have signed former Wolves, Stoke City and Sunderland defender Danny Batth and former Bristol City striker Andi Weimann, both on one-year deals.
Batth, 33, began his career with Wolves, helping them win the League One title with a record points total in 2014 and later captained the club to the Championship title four years later.
