Oxford United: U’s to release McEachran and Bennett while Placheta stays

Oxford United have announced that Josh McEachran and Joe Bennett will leave the club this summer following the expiration of their contracts.

They have also triggered an extension to winger Przemysław Płacheta’s deal for a further year.

Placheta has been a key member of Gary Rowett’s side this season, making 32 appearances with six goal contributions in the Championship.

Joe Bennett: Oxford defender extends stay through 2024-25 season

Defender Joe Bennett has signed a new contract with Oxford United to stay with the club through the 2024-25 season.

The 34-year-old left-back joined the U’s in November, initially on a short-term deal, but went on to play 22 games as the club won promotion to the Championship.

Bennett has amassed more than 170 games for Cardiff City, as well as playing for Middlesbrough, Brighton, Aston Villa and Wigan.
