Hull City winger Yu Hirakawa is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old Japan international, who is on loan from Bristol City, picked up the injury in Saturday’s home defeat by QPR.
“It’s very bad news, he must have surgery,” boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside.
“It’s terrible news. He adapted here very well and he played good, but unfortunately no luck.”
Hull City have signed Japan international winger Yu Hirakawa on loan from fellow Championship side Bristol City until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old joined the Robins on a permanent basis in February 2025 having previously spent time with the club on loan from J-League side Machida Zelvia
After helping Bristol City to last season’s Championship play-offs, Hirakawa has made 27 appearances during the course of the current campaign.
