Manchester United will attempt to delay the departures of Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui to the Africa Cup of Nations.
Tournament regulations mean United should release the trio two weeks before the respective first games of Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Morocco.
That would mean letting them leave around the Premier League encounter with Wolves at Molineux on 8 December.

Robin Roefs, Sunderland, £4.7m, keeper – Everton (h)
You can’t ignore Sunderland’s fine start to the season, particularly their defence.
Roefs is the top-scoring keeper already – thanks to four clean sheets and a penalty save – and faces an Everton side that has scored just three times in their past six games.

Molineux was the stage for a thrilling game at the weekend, with bottom side Wolves losing in dramatic circumstances to promoted Burnley.
The visitors looked home and dry when Zian Flemming scored twice in the first 30 minutes, with the Dutchman becoming the first Burnley player to score more than once in a Premier League away game since Maxwel Cornet against Southampton in October 2021.

His former team Brentford were not scheduled to report back for training until a week after United’s players, and so the 25-year-old stayed mainly in the gym rather than get involved in his new club’s team sessions.
It explains why he is behind the rest of Ruben Amorim’s squad in fitness terms and was not involved in Saturday’s victory over West Ham at the MetLife Stadium.

It was, though, the first time he has reached double figures for a top-flight club, and his expected goals (xG) statistic of 12.3 – which
He has done well at Brentford, but playing for Manchester United is very different. With respect to Brentford, there is no great expectation there. At United, he will be expected to perform straightaway.
He has experience, he is a good finisher, and his versatility is a big positive – he can play as a central striker as well as on the wing, cutting inside off the right on to his
Although United have been strongly linked with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in recent days, it has always been the priority at Old Trafford to get the Mbeumo deal done in time for Amorim to work with him in the Chicago, where United will largely be based for their 13-day trip.

Brentford are in “constant dialogue” with forward Bryan Mbeumo and it is “not impossible” he will stay, says director of football Phil Giles.
Cameroon international Mbeumo is the subject of serious interest from Manchester United, who have had two offers for the striker rejected – the second of which was worth up to £62.5m.
