Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez says he will be fit “in a few weeks” after having an operation following the 2-0 Premier League win at Everton on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Argentina international reportedly broke his jaw after a head collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the second half at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Martinez needed treatment for eight minutes before leaving the pitch on a stretcher. He was taken to hospital

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says defender Joe Gomez will miss “large parts” of the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury that may require surgery.

Enzo Fernandez: Chelsea midfielder to miss rest of season after operation

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez will miss the rest of the season after undergoing successful surgery on a groin issue.

The 23-year-old Argentina international will be absent for the club’s remaining six Premier League games of the 2023-24 season.
