Footballer Antoine Semenyo “froze” after he was allegedly racially abused by a Liverpool fan at Anfield, a court has heard.

Semenyo, who was then playing for Bournemouth, was allegedly racially abused by Mark Mogan, 47, as he went to take a throw-in about 30 minutes into the opening match of the Premier League season on August 15 last year.

The Football Association is investigating a report of an alleged racist remark made towards Hannibal Mejbri during Saturday’s game between Preston North End and Burnley.

Burnley midfielder Hannibal has accused Preston forward Milutin Osmajic of racially abusing him during the 0-0 draw at Deepdale.

Rodrigo Bentancur charged by FA over racial slur about Son Heung-min

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been charged by the Football Association for using a racial slur about team-mate Son Heung-min.
