Fantasy Premier League: Captain Bukayo Saka? The FPL talking point

By Total Football News

There’s momentum quickly gathering among serious FPL managers to captain Saka as the league leaders face bottom side Wolves at the Emirates.

Saka has delivered an attacking return in three consecutive league games, and

For many, the prolific Haaland has been a locked-in captain choice in the past few weeks, but I was willing to bet against him and consider alternatives in gameweek 12 with a trip to Newcastle.

Liverpool are flying under Arne Slot and sit top of the Premier League and the Champions League table, having dropped points in just two games this season.

They are five points clear of Manchester City, who have lost four games in a row in all competitions – something Pep Guardiola had never experienced before in his managerial career (excluding penalty shootouts).

Despite their recent run and speculation about the Spaniard’s

West Brom have collected just three points out of a possible 15, a run that is the worst since Carlos Corberan succeeded Steve Bruce as Baggies boss almost two years ago.

But they remain fourth in the Championship and in their last outing became the first side this season to come away with even a point at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park home.

“I don’t think they’ve [West Brom] won in

FPL tips and talking points – are Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah essential in your side?

Having both players gives you a fantastic captain choice most weeks and also makes it very hard to fit another premium player into your side.

Yes, you can have a Cole Palmer or Bukayo Saka in there too, but almost every other player in your squad would be £5.5m or less – and history tells us that those prices don’t often result in high-scoring FPL players.
