Preston North End’s 3-2 win over Sheffield United was a wonderful advert for the madness, chaos and brilliance that is the Championship.
This really was a joy to watch – and it was a result that North End needed after defeats at West Brom and at home to Birmingham.
Apart from a 29-minute spell, where they very nearly let the game run away from them, they were terrific.

Most teams dream of having a bit of Brazilian flair on the wing, right?
For every era there’s a precocious Samba talent who lights up our TV screens and sets up residence in our hearts.
For me it was Ronaldinho. My Dad would probably point to Garrincha or Jairzinho while my nephews run around in Neymar shirts.
So, when they largely wrote the book on world-class wide men, it feels
Two things are quite clear – Sheffield Wednesday need a plan for the summer and next season and Danny Rohl is almost certainly not going to be part of that plan.
Therefore, isn’t it best for all concerned to get this situation sorted as soon as possible?
It has been argued, not unfairly, that there is a compensation number attached to Rohl’s contract that any potential suitor has to pay.

Head coaches getting sacked at Watford stopped becoming a surprise a long time ago.
If the team isn’t doing well, it’s the head coach’s fault and he pays the price. End of.
Watford fans didn’t particularly like this philosophy but they kind of understood and accepted it. It was the board’s way of doing things and it worked to an extent.

Millwall’s quest to find a late-season play-off spot proved in the end to be a game too far at Turf Moor on Saturday.
In many ways this was a magnificent performance by the Lions, who gave everything to find the win they needed to make the top six.
But a second half of relentless Burnley pressure proved, in the end, to be too much for the injury-hit Londoners, who were
Rarely do the the stars align perfectly at Leeds United.
On Monday night they did just that to reveal a Farke phenomenon which could be seen inside Elland Road and heard in the skies above.
Old school colours of yellow scarves, bucket hats, smiley badges and shirts adorned the grand old stadium.
And the noise was something else. Old school too with bellowing choruses of club anthems, welcomes to jungles
The protest on Saturday, arranged by the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust, was the most participated in protest I can recall at Hillsborough.
As noted a few times recently, this isn’t a fan base with much appetite for protest. You’re unlikely to see anything like you’re witnessing at Spurs currently or Manchester United.
However, this one apparently struck a chord.
Not everyone took part but a lot of people accepted the
Sheffield United should forget about the Premier League. They should forget about automatic promotion. They should forget about the play-offs, past and present.
They should forget about Leeds, about Burnley and frankly, about anyone else.
Any Blades success this season now depends on getting their own house in order, from the manager to the players and the fans.
Everyone is asking questions right now, understandably so after three straight defeats
I’d be absolutely gutted if they didn’t get into the play-offs from where they are. It’s not that straightforward of course, but by getting a point at QPR they have actually improved their position.
It’s setting themselves up nicely against Sunderland next week, who are in a really strange position. They are going to finish in the division where they are now, which is fourth, the manager’s got a problem
City were dominant against Watford on Saturday – they were outstanding, they were comfortable, and they deserved to be comfortable at half-time.
They took a little bit of a backward step in the second half which allowed Watford to build a little more confidence, make one or two passes in central areas.
And all of a sudden Louza picked out Doumbia on the edge of the box, one turn and
