American businessman Textor bought a stake in the club in 2021 but ends his association with Palace as they attempt to overturn Uefa’s decision to demote them from the Europa League to the Conference League.

The Eagles were punished for breaching multi-club ownership rules as Textor had a stake in the club and is the majority owner of Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League.

Crystal Palace: John Textor agrees to sell stake to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson

Crystal Palace part-owner John Textor has signed an agreement to sell his stake in the club to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, sources close to the deal have confirmed.

The deal, believed to be worth close to £190m, is subject to Premier League approval.

It remains to be seen whether the deal boosts Palace’s fight to be cleared to play in European football next season.
