Swansea City: Adam Idah faces lengthy spell out as Josh Key and Ronald add to injury concerns

While Idah’s probable lay-off is a heavy blow to Matos’ options in attack, there is better news of Cullen.

The Wales international has missed Swansea’s past two matches with a calf problem and Matos expects him to be out for another fortnight.

The absence of Idah and Cullen meant Swansea started without a recognised striker against West Brom, with attacking midfielder Melker Widell operating in the most advanced central role before Zan Vipotnik came on the in the second half.

With another game at Millwall to come on Sunday, 4 January, Matos said Vipotnik began on the bench because of the frantic festive fixture list.

“We need to manage the players. We need to manage the individuals in terms of freshness, in terms of availability,” he added.
