Wingers Ali Ahmed and Papa Amadou Diallo will both be available for the trip to north Wales.

Canada international Ahmed joined Norwich from Vancouver Whitecaps on 5 January, while Diallo has been out since September because of injury.

“They have two interesting profiles for the group. We need to bring them back step by step and not go too fast, although I am, of course, pushing things,” said Clement.

“I am very excited to see them on the pitch because they can suit very well the football we want to play.”

On Ahmed, he added: “We believe he can be a really good asset for the team and can help us achieve our goals.

“He had a break of four weeks and hasn’t played for us yet so he needs to create connections with other players and get to know them but we saw already some really good things and everybody has a really good impression of Ali.”

Norwich won 10 points out of 12 in their first four games last month, but two defeats in three since then have left them 22nd in the table.

They lost 3-2 at home to Wrexham in September and are hoping for a more positive result in their first league game in north Wales since 1981.

“It’s been, in general, positive these last two months. If we continue on that path, we will get out of this situation.

“But my ambitions are higher than that. I want us to improve our levels month by month and that’s clear for everybody. I am convinced we will get out of this situation, but I am focusing on the performances.”
